Finishes
We offer a wide range of products in the following finishes. All products are made of solid brass, stainless steel and Aluminium. As an alloy and stainless steel, they will not rust or rot in any period of time. However polished finishes although lacquered will deteriorate over time if necessary care is not taken of daily maintenance.
Polished Brass
The item is polished and lacquered to obtain a bright and glossy appearance. Requires the occasional clean with damp cloth and is suitable for interior use only.
Polished Unlacquered Brass
The item is polished only and will gradually tarnish and mellow in colour. Alternatively cleaning with brass polish will retain a bright finish. Recommended for interior use only.
Matt Gold
The item is polished and then finely buffed with an abrasive matt wheel that gives the matt effect, and then later Matt Gold Lacquered and heated to a high degree to give the final matt finish. This finish is smooth and subtle. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Shiny Gold
The item is polished and gold lacquered to obtain a bright and glossy appearance, heated to a high degree to give the final Glossy Gold finish. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Brushed Gold
The item is polished and then is finely buffed with an abrasive wheel that gives the brushed effect, and then later Gold Lacquered, heated to a high degree to give the final brushed Gold Finish. This gives the metal a textured finish which adds value to the product which is lacquered. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Matt Black
The item is finely polished and then is finely buffed with an abrasive matt wheel that gives the matt effect, and then later black lacquered, heated to a high degree to give the final matt black finish. Shiny Black
The item is polished and Black lacquered to obtain a bright and glossy appearance, heated to a high degree to give the final glossy black finish. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Brushed Black
The item is polished and then is finely buffed with an abrasive wheel that gives the brushed effect, and then later black lacquered, heated to a high degree to give the final brushed black finish. This gives the metal a textured finish which adds value to the product which is lacquered. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Black Nickle
The product is degreased and soaked cleaned, followed by an electric clean bath to remove any further impurities that may cause de-lamination.
The item is then dipped whilst electrically charged in a tank containing Nickle sulphate, Nickle chloride and sulphuric acid. The item will be plated with a minimum of 10 microns of Nickle. Then the item is further dipped in the Black Nickle tank that gives the black effect. The finished article is then polished ready for use.
Matt Rose gold
The item is polished and then finely buffed with an abrasive matt wheel that gives the matt effect, and then later Rose Gold Lacquered, heated to a high degree to give the final matt Rose Gold finish. This finish is smooth and subtle. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Rose Gold
The item is polished and Rose Gold lacquered to obtain a bright and glossy appearance, heated to a high degree to give the final Glossy Rose Gold finish. Requires cleaning with a soft cloth on a regular basis and is suitable for interior use only.
Bronze
The item is degreased and soaked in a chemical that bronzes the metal. It is then cleaned and lacquered to achieve a natural bronze finish. Requires the occasional clean with damp cloth and Is not suitable for exterior use.
Nickle Plating
The product is degreased and soaked cleaned, followed by an electric clean bath to remove any further impurities that may cause de-lamination
The item is then dipped whilst electrically charged in a tank containing Nickle sulphate, Nickle chloride and sulphuric acid. The item will be plated with a minimum of 10 microns of Nickle. The finished article is then polished ready for use.
As a standard we supply Nickle as an unlacquered finish which will dull over time making pieces look original. Unlacquered products can be easily polished back to their original shine using brass polish when required. Alternatively cleaning with brass polish will retain a bright finish.
Lacquered finish products will be sprayed with cellulose lacquer to protect the bright finish. Over time lacquer will tarnish and break down, at this point the product will require the lacquer stripped and re-polished prior to re-lacquering.
